Life cycle assessment (LCA) PHA Biodegradable plastic – EMPHATI
Within the EMPHATI project, Ecoras is working as a project partner, among other things, to develop a comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA) of PHA production routes and product applications.
More about PHA & EMHATI
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are a special group of bacterially produced thermoplastic biopolymers. The goal of the cross-border project EMPHATI is therefore the development of new sustainable and environmentally friendly products based on PHA/PHA blends with natural fibers for selected applications in injection moulding and 3D printing in the participating production companies. An important aspect is the formation of a cross-border cluster along the PHA value chain that connects actors and enables knowledge transfer. An open section should allow for feasibility and pilot studies.
